JOSEPH H. NEUWEG DIES
AT HOME OF BROTHER
Joseph H, Neuweg (AKA Henry Joseph Neuweg), a lifelong resident of Lee County, passed away at the home of his brother, Henry Neuweg, Monday noon 20 May 1935, following an illness of several months duration.
Mr. Neuweg was born in West Point Township on September 18, 1858 and he was 76 years, 8 months and 2 days old at the time of his death.
The deceased had never married and is survived by one sister. Mrs. Barney Hueser of Fort Madison, and two brothers. Henry and John Neuweg, of West point Township.
Mr. Neuweg had been engaged in farming, owning a small place south of town (West Point), He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of West Point. Always of a jovial disposition, Mr. Neuweg had many friends. While it was generally known that his health was failing, his death came rather suddenly.
The body was brought to the Willis McNeill home Tuesday afternoon and funeral services were held at St, Mary's Catholic Church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, the pastor, Rev. John Scherf officiating.
