Well Known Resident of That Place Who Died in What Cheer, Ia., Laid to Rest
MONTROSE, Ia., Jan. 1 - The funeral of the late C. B. Levenworth, for many years a prominent resident of this place, who died at What Cheer, Ia., on Wednesday, was held Friday afternoon from the Presbyterian church here. The funeral sermon, as requested several years ago by Mr. Levenworth, was preached by George H. Duty, editor of the Montrose Journal. Burial was made in the Montrose cemetery.
Mr. Levenworth was born at Oxford, Conn., Sept. 11, 1829, and consequently was eighty-six years old. He came west in his youth, settling first in Ohio and later at Montrose. On Dec. 31, 1854, he was married to Sarah Jane Hill at Medina,O.
After the death of his wife in 1907, Mr. Levenworth spent the remaining years of his life with his children, Mrs. Henry Young of Mason, Ia., and Mrs. L. C. Wilson of What Cheer. Mr. Levenworth was for many years a member of the Presbyterian church of Montrose.
