Marie Hoenig, 69, 2323 Hwy. 61 West, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
She was born March 15, 1928, at Keota, the daughter of Peter and Elise Vogel Becker. She married Adrian Hoenig, Dec. 1, 1962, at St. Joseph's Church, Fort Madison. He survives.
She had lived in Fort Madison for 40 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Church, VIP Support Group, Burlington, and Tri State Visually Handicapped and Blind Support Group in Fort Madison.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Michael Hoenig, Davenport; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Joyce) Patterson, Lake Placid, Fla. and Jan St. Clair, Rock Springs, Wyo.; five brothers, Leo and Joseph "Jim" Becker, both of West Point, Norbert Becker, Kalona, Gerald Becker, Fort Madison and Raymond Becker, Syracuse, N.Y.; two sisters, Rosemary Burden and Dorothy Feehan, both of Mount Pleasant; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Ss. Mary and Joseph Church, with Rev. Robert McAleer officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. King-Lynk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Tri-State Visually Handicapped and Blind Support Group.
