Mrs. Martha Wade Dies In Hospital Sunday MorningMrs. Martha Wade of 312 Fulton street died early Sunday morning at St. Joseph hospital where she had been a patient for a month. She had been in failing health for the last year but seriously ill only a month.
Born August 15, 1870, in Athens Mo., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abryann VanCamp.
Her first marriage was to David R. Stice and then in 1900 at Joplin, Mo., she married James N. Wade. They came to Keokuk from Davenport more than 40 years ago.
She was a member of the First Baptist church.
Surviving are two sons, Wiliam H. Stice and Irwin Wade, both of Keokuk; a daughter, Mrs. Hubert(Maude)Volm of Chicago;two brothers, Fred and William Van Camp both of California; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three daughters, Anna in infancy, Mrs. Margaret Coop and Mrs. Beulah Means in 1944, and a son Wesley.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:30p.m. in ths Schmidt Memorial Home with burial in Oakland cemetery.
