I am posting this for those of you who corresponded with Tim for genealogy information. His help will be missed by many.
Timothy Dupy
Timothy Struthers Dupy, 57, of Burlington died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Great River Medical Center Hospice.
Born August 22, 1948, in Ottumwa, he was the son of Lafe and Alice Louise Nelson Dupy.
Mr. Dupy was a 1968 graduate of Ottumwa High School and received his bachelor's degree in teaching from Harris-Stowe Teachers College in St. Louis in 1977. He taught in the St. Louis School System and for Houston Independent School District until his retirement in June 2005.
He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed genealogy and was a member of the Des Moines County Genealogical Society. He also enjoyed flowers and collecting Santa Claus items.
Survivors include two sisters, Stephanie Albright and Marcia Doyle, one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents
The funeral for Mr. Dupy was held in Lunning Chapel with Revs. Patrick Hilgendorf and Maurice Moore officiating. Interment was in Ottumwa,Cemetery.
The Timothy Dupy family, per his request, donated a large holding of his work pertaining to Lee county residents, to the South Lee County Genealogical Society in Keokuk. The Society is in the process of organizing the material.
