Mr. Victor E. Olson, temporary assistant observer, died at Chicago, Ill., January 10, 1919, after a brief illness. Mr. Olson was born in Keokuk, Iowa, on March 28, 1897. He was appointed messenger boy in the Weather Bureau on April 16, 1914, and assigned to the Keokuk station. Later he was appointed apprentice at that station, and as the result of his excellent service in that capacity was appointed temporary assistant observer on December 1, 1918, and assigned to the Chicago station. -- December 1919
