ACCIDENT – The mail coach from the North, in entering are city on Monday night last, about 9 o’clock upset, and considerably injured Gen. Van Antwerp, of Keokuk. His left collarbone was dislocated, and he was otherwise bruised. There were three other passengers – S. Hempstead, Esq., of Dubuque, among them – but they escaped unhurt. The accident occurred on the public square, near Fourth Street – a place where it could only have happened through carelessness or unskilled driving. – [Gazette
