Winfield FORDYCE, M.D., Jefferson County, Iowa; born near Fort Madison, Lee Co., 10 Feb, 1848, son of Lewis & Mary A. (NEWBY) FORDYCE. Lewis born Wabash Co., Ill., came to Iowa 1837. His father Jairus (sic) FORDYCE. Mary A. NEWBY was dau. of Gabriel NEWBY, born In.... Quaker, she married Lewis FORDYCE in Lee county, came to Van Buren Co., 1851, in 1874 to Jefferson County, Des Moines Twp.... Winfield FORDYCE practiced in Glasgow 1875-91; he married Dec. 19, 1876, Marian FELL, dau. David FELL of Jefferson Co., and they have three children, Mary, Elsie, and Chester.
