WEST POINT TOWNSHIP.

WILSON, JOSEPH, far., Sec. 11 ; P. O. Fort Madison ; was born in Lancashire, England, in 1824, where he was cared for by his parents until 16 years of age, after which he worked as a common laborer until 28 years of age ; then married Miss Dorathy Prime; she was born in Lancashire, England, in 1830; about a year after, they embarked for America, coming direct to Aurora, Ill., where he engaged at brickmaking and burning lime; thence to De Kalb Co., Ill. ; thence, in 1855, to Iowa ; stopped at Mount Pleasant for two years, and in 1857, to Lee Co., where he now resides and owns 80 acres of land, valued at $25 per acre. They have five children - William, Margaret E., Charles R., Maria J., Joseph S. Democrat.
