LAUMANN, GERHART S., farmer, Sec. 30 ; P. O. Summitville ; owns 120 acres ; born in Norway, in 1832 ; his parents came to United States in 1839; in 1841, his father purchased a claim in Sec. 30, Montrose Tp. , but died soon after ; in 1852, Mr. Lauman crossed the plains to California, where he remained six years. He married in 1859 Martha C. Striblen, a native of Germany ; they have three children—Matilda, Charles and Laura ; lost four children in infancy. Mr. Laumann has served as Justice of the Peace for six years; re-elected till 1880.
