FULTON, HARRY, residence corner of Seventh and Exchange sts. ; was born in Watertown, Jefferson Co., N. Y., in 1829 ; came to this county in 1842 ; was engaged in the grocery trade in this city ten years ; also in the whole sale clothing business ten years. In 1861, was appointed U. S. Marshal, which position he filled until 1871 ; he was also appointed and served as Deputy Provost Marshal during the war. In the early history of the county, he was Deputy Sheriff two years; was also Coroner one term, and has filled various local offices. He married in this city Miss M. E. Patterson ; have one child —Ida C. Mr. Fulton, in early life, acted with the Whig party, and was the nominee of said party for Representative ; on the decline of the Whig party he joined the ranks of the Republican, and has since been identified with it.
