(P.O. Keokuk)FORD, T., railway contractor ; residence on Morgan between Eighth and Ninth streets. Mr. Ford was born in Ross Co., Ohio, in 1840 ; in 1853, removed with parents to New York, thence to Virginia in 1856; at the breaking out of the war, he enlisted in Co. A, 10th Key West, Va., Union Inf. ; entered the services as Orderly Sergeant; was promoted 2d Lieutenant.; served until the close of the war ; was honorably discharged. In 1870, he married Miss U. G. Benner, of Hancock Co., Ill.; came to Keokuk in 1871; have one child living—Jessie May, born in this city, Keokuk. Mr. Ford acts with Republican party.
