AUWARERTER, JOHN M., wagon-maker; was born in Germany July 19, 1833; there learned the trade of wagon-making; emigrated to America in 1853; lived in Ohio two years; came to Iowa and located in Fort Madison in 1855, and began working at his trade, and since then has been engaged in his present business. He married Miss Elizabeth Faeth, from Germany Oct. 25, 1859; they have seven children - Lizzie, Katie, Anna, Ellen, Mary, Eddie and Willie; they lost one son.
