Word comes from Washington that old man James A. Archibald is dead. He lived in this county a number of years and farmed north-east of here. He then sold his land before the boom and moved to Algona where he lived for several years. Finally a couple or three years ago, when he had little need of it, he went to Washington state to take a homestead. We believe he did take the homestead and if he acquired any interest in it that is of value it will, no doubt, go to his son David, who lives out there. The old gentleman was a native of Ireland. Mr. J. A. Orr tells us that his son cared for him during his illness and paid his expenses.
