MRS. DENNIS HAYES.
It is our sad duty to chronicle the death of Mrs. Dennis Hayes, which took place at her late home Friday, September 22nd, at 10 o’clock a.m. at the ripe age of 77 years.

Bridget Liddy was born in Ireland in 1834. She came to America in 1853 with her brother and went to LaSalle, Illinois, to make her home. She was married to Dennis Hayes at LaSalle in 1855, the young couple going to Dubuque, Iowa, soon after. There at Dubuque and Littleport they made their home until the Spring of 1890, when they with their family, came to Kossuth county and located in Lotts Creek. They moved to Whittemore some years ago.

Mrs. Hayes, “Mother Hayes,” was a gentle, loving spirit, who had a kind word for all; an affectionate wife, a loving and indulgent mother, a good neighbor is at rest. Her kindly greeting of ‘God bless you’ to all grown people and children will be missed by her host of friends.
