DAVID ROCHLEAU

David Rochleau, age 41, of Whittemore, died on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Algona, with Rev. Karen Dearchs and Rev. Marsha Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Whittemore. Visitation will be 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Algona.

David Paul Rochleau, the son of Ronald Victor and Marilyn Carol (Ostwald) Rochleau, was born on July 15, 1972 in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1991. In 1993 Dave received an Associates in Arts degree from Iowa Lakes Community College. On December 17, 2005 Dave was united in marriage with Tara Hudspeth in Algona. Dave farmed and raised hogs on his family's farm north of Whittemore. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Algona. Dave was the current President of the Algona Morwens Kiwanis and a Past President of the Whittemore Betterment Club. He also was a Director with the Kossuth County Pork Producers and in 2004 he was awarded the Master Pork Producer by the Iowa Pork Producers. He enjoyed golfing, rebuilding his Trans Am, camping, boating, fixing things, growing pumpkins for the Kiwanis Pumpkin Decorating and supporting Relay for Life and the Buddy Walk. Dave was a hard worker who always helped when he was needed. His family was the most important part of his life.

Left to cherish Dave's memory is his wife, Tara; five children, Tyler Rochleau of McGregor, Robin, Megan and Blake Rochleau of St. Olaf and Ayden Rochleau of Whittemore; two step-sons, Bryant Eakins and Taylor Steburg of Whittemore; his father, Ronald Rochleau and his wife Renee of Whittemore; a brother, Lynn Rochleau and his wife Paige and their children, Tucker and Kennedy of West Des Moines; mother-in-law, Virginia Bode and her husband Franklin of Wesley; father-in-law, Robert Hudspeth and his wife Tina of Mason City; and many brother and sisters-in-law; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, Esther and Martin Ostwald and Ola and Victor Rochleau.
