OMER KELLY RITES HERE WEDNESDAY MORNING AT 9:30
Killed in Chicago Thursday Night; Body Arrived This Morning For Interment From St. Cecelia’s Church Wednesday

The remains of Omer A. Kelly, killed in Chicago Thursday night, arrived in the city this morning, Tuesday, and services will be held from St. Cecelia’s church at 9:30 Wednesday morning with Rev. J. M. Mallinger officiating at requiem high mass. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luke Linnan, Wade Sullivan, Dr. Karl Hoffman, S. A. McFadden, Dr. F. E. Scanlan and E. L. DeZellar. Hagg Post No. 90, American Legion will conduct military service at the gravesite.

Born In Algona
Omer A. Kelly was born in Algona Oct. 13, 1916, son of the late Joe Kelly, Sr., and Mrs. Mary Kelly. He was a graduate of St. Cecelia’s Academy, Class of ’33. Later he attended Creighton University at Omaha four years and also one year at Notre Dame University. On April 30, 1942, he was married to Eileen Murray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Art Murray, Bancroft, in St. John’s church. The wife and son, Tommy, 11 months old, survive as do also his mother, Mrs. Mary Kelly, and a brother, Joe, the latter of Chicago.

Out-of-town relatives here today are Tessie Kelly, a sister, and Lucille Kelly, a niece, both of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson, Minneapolis; and Irene and Adelaide Carey, of Beloit, Wis.
