4-MEDAL BURT SOLDIER KILLED
Pfc. Albert Voigt Saw Action in Six BattlesAlgona—Mr. and Mrs. Robert Voigt, Burt, whose 4 sons were in the service, received notice this week that their son, Pfc. Albert Voigt, was killed in action in France, Oct. 23.
He was in the Normandy invasion in June and since had been in 6 major battles, having received medals for each.
He enlisted April 2, 1942, and went overseas March 13, 1944. He was in an anti-tank company. He was born at Apache, Okla., July 28, 1912, came to Kossuth county in 1927, was graduated from Whittemore high school in 1933, then moved to Burt.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Merwyn Cunningham, Burt; his parents and 3 brothers, Pfc. Martin Voigt, Cpl. Robert Voigt in air service overseas, and Pvt. William Voigt with a medical division stationed at Camp Ellis, Ill.
Memorial services will be held later, pending receipt of a letter from overseas.
