Funeral Services For Theodore Handeland of Hutchins Held Tuesday

Hutchins - Theodore Handeland, who has suffered for nearly a year with cancer, died at his home southwest of Hutchins Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Handeland was born Dec. 20, 1889 at Story City, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernhart Handeland. When an infant he moved with his parents to Humboldt county, where he grew to manhood. Later he moved to a farm near Irvington and to the present farm, southwest of Hutchins, in 1932.

He was united in marriage to Belva Cornish at Beaumon, N. D., in 1904. The following survive: His wife and six children, Arlet, Ole, Glen, Marie, Bernice and Orville; one brother, Ole, of Ventura and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Ernest of Humboldt and Mrs. Marvin Much of Latimer.

He was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran church of Hardy and has always retained his membership.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 o'clock from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church in Algona. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Devine, F. Mullin, Elmer Sheets, J. E. Duncan, Peen Eckels and Frank Gahan.

Theodore Handeland, Hutchins, Dies; Rites Held at Home, Church

Hutchins, Oct. 17 - Theodore Handeland, who suffered a lingering illness, died at his home south of Hutchins Saturday afternoon. Mr. Handeland was born at Story City Dec. 20, 189. He was married to Belvia Cornish at Beaumon, N. Dak., in 1914.

When an infant he moved with his parents to Humboldt county where he grew to manhood later moving to a farm near Irvington and to his present home in 1932.

He is survived by his wife and six children. Arlet, Ale, Glen, Marie, Bernice, and Orville all at home, one brother, Ole Handeland of Ventura and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Ernest of Humboldt and Mrs. Marion Mirch of Latimer.

He was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran church of Hardy.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home and at the Methodist church in Algona. Interment was made in the Riverside cemetery.
