Mrs. Emily Mericle Dies

Mrs. Emily Mericle, a highly respected resident of the town of Whittemore, died last Friday at the Algona hospital following an operation of a serious nature. Mrs. Mericle was the wife of James Mericle who, until recently, lived on a farm near Wittemore, but is now living in town. At the time of her death she was sixty-three years, eleven months and one day old. For several years she has been in poor health. She was the subject of an operation about a year ago, but her trouble recurred in a more serious form and another operation became necessary in the hope that her life might be prolonged.

Mrs. Mericle was the mother of five children, four sons and one daughter. Two of the sons who are in the far west were unable to attend the funeral. The funeral was held Monday from the Catholic church in Whittemore, Father Dullard conducting the services. Interment was had in the Catholic cemetery at Whittemore.
