Rose Augusta (Warmbier) Blanchard – 1895-1944

ALGONA MOTHER OF 8 CHILDREN DIES AT 49

Algona – Mrs. Rose Blanchard, 49, mother of 8 children, died at her home 2 miles south of here Tuesday morning following an illness since January.

She was born on a farm northwest of Luverne January 16, 1895. On September 18, 1916 she was married to Ezra Blanchard at Luverne. They established a home on a farm near there where they lived 10 years, then moved to Livermore for 5 years when they came to the Algona vicinity which has since been their home.

Mrs. Blanchard is survived b her husband and these children: Mrs. Lavina Mittlieder, Algona; S/Sgt. Daniel Blanchard, Tacoma, Washington; Howard Blanchard at sea; Ione; Clifford; Harold; and Marilyn at home.
Also surviving are a brother Herman at Luverne and 3 sisters; Mrs. Clara Sankey, Algona; Mrs. Glen Cunningham, Blue Earth, Minnesota; and Mrs. Lena Fuchsen, Couer d’ Alene, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at the Nazarene Church Saturday at 1:30 and burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
