IN SENECA TWP., IS DEAD
Lone Rock, Dec. 27—Nancy A. Morgan was born February 19, 1834, at Lockport, Pa., and died at Cherokee December 22, 1921, having been sick only two weeks.

When she was a small girl she came to Iowa with her parents, and lived in Washington county, where she was married to Abijah Batterson on the 7th of November, 1859. To this union were born seven children, three of whom have preceded their mother in death. The living children are: Abijah, of Vesta, Minn.; Mrs. Hugh Bronson, of Bancroft; Mrs. E. L. Mantor, of Cedar Falls; and Mrs. M. E. Blanchard, of Lone Rock.

Mr. and Mrs. Batterson moved to Kossuth county in the fall of 1876 and lived in Seneca township until Mr. Batterson died in December, 1884, after which time Mrs. Batterson made her home with her children most of the time.

Mrs. Batterson’s funeral was held at the Baptist church at Bancroft on Saturday, December 24, at 11 o’clock a.m., after which the remains were laid to rest in the Seneca cemetery. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. S.M. Gladstone, of Lone Rock.
