Mrs. John Devine Dies at 84 Years
of Age—Mrs. John Devine, who came to Kossuth in 1855, died last week Monday at a hospital in Dubuque of old age. Her sons Frank and Barnet were with her and brought the remains to Livermore, where the funeral was held Wednesday. Mrs. Devine was born in Ireland and was in her 84th year. Until 11 years ago she was a resident of Kossuth near St. Jo. During her last years she lived in Livermore. Seven children were born, six of whom survive. They are: John, living at Junction City, Kansas; James, Barnet, Frank, Mrs. M. Noonan at Bode, Mrs. Kajewski at Emmetsburg and Mrs. John Dunphy, deceased. Mrs. Devine was a good woman. The old settlers will mourn her departure, and extend their kindliest sympathy to Mr. Devine and the children.
