Rites Thursday at Bancroft
Lone Rock - Albert Schmidt, 52, resident of this area for the past five or six years, died Sunday in University hospitals in Iowa City where he had ben a patient for the past week and a half. He went to Iowa City to under go surgery, but suffered a heart attack at the hospital only three days after his arrival there and the surgery was postponed.
Funeral services for Mr. Schmidt will be held Thursday morning in St. John's Catholic church at Bancroft, with burial at Whittemore.

Dies in IowaFuneral services were held September 1, at 9:30 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bancroft, Iowa, for Albert Schmidt, 51, Lone Rock, Iowa who died August 28, (1960) at University Hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient 12 days suffering from pneumonia and complications.
Albert Schmidt was born Oct, 15, 1908 and lived in Blue Hill until 25 years ago when he went to Iowa to make his home.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine, four brothers, Charles, Frank and Lloyd of Blue Hill, and Ernest of Guernsey, Wyo., and four sisters, Mrs. Frank (Lena) Lukas of Blue Hill, Mrs. Leona McConkey of Douglas, Wyo., Mrs. Ray Henderson of Englewood, Colo., Mrs. Lillian Wibben of Blue Hill and many other relatives.
Those attending the funeral services from Blue Hill were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Schmidt, Frank and Charles Schmidt and Mrs. Lillian Wibben.
