Biography reproduced from page 462 of the History of Kossuth and Humboldt Counties, Iowa published in 1884:

Alonzo A. Sifert was born May 31, 1860, in Crawford Co., Wis. When ten years of age he came with his parents to Kossuth county, and has lived in different parts of the county, working for different men. He has taught school in Nebraska. In 1880 he returned from Nebraska to Kossuth county and taught school one term, also taught one year in Humboldt county and three terms in St. Joseph, this county, being a very successful teacher. He is how running the farm of B. Clark. He is a firm believer in Christianity, but not associated with any sect. In politics he is a democrat.
