Biography reproduced from page 305 of Volume II of the History of Kossuth County written by Benjamin F. Reed and published in 1913:
One of the rising young men of Algona, well known in the business circles and popular in society, is Charles Wallace Nicoulin, who was born here October 11, 1882, his parents being Frank and Olivia P. (Pinkerton) Nicoulin. He was educated in the schools of Algona and later pursued a commercial course in Toland’s Business University at Mason City, Iowa. Five years ago he became connected with his father’s manufacturing business and in 1911 the factory turned out one hundred and ten completed drays. He has given close attention to the business and has mastered every detail of the work done in the factory except the blacksmithing. In association with his brother he owns a farm of one hundred and sixty acres near Britt, Iowa, and half a block on which the factory stands.
In his political faith Mr. Nicoulin is a republican. Fraternally he is identified with the Masonic order, the Knights of Pythias and the Modern Woodmen of America. Industrious and capable, of genial disposition, Mr. Nicoulin has, though still a young man, won an enviable place in manufacturing, business, fraternal and social circles in Algona and vicinity, where he is intimately known by a large number of people. His future, which is bright with promise, no doubt holds in store for him a large number of the good things which go to make life worth living and which make for valuable citizenship.
