Biography reproduced from page 223 of Volume II of the History of Kossuth County written by Benjamin F. Reed and published in 1913:

F. C. Reinecke has for the past nine years been identified with general agricultural pursuits in Irvington township, Kossuth county, where he owns an excellent farm of two hundred and forty acres located on section 30. He was born in Stephenson county, Illinois, on the 19th of July, 1864, and is a son of Ludwig and Dora (Hersey) Reinecke, who were natives of Germany. The father emigrated to the United States in 1857 and located in Freeport, Illinois. He was a shoemaker in the old country and during the first eight or ten years of his residence in this country continued to follow that trade, but about 1868 or 1869, he turned his attention to agricultural pursuits. He engaged in farming in Illinois until 1883, when he removed to Iowa and for several years thereafter continued to follow the same vocation, but he has now retired from active work and makes his home with our subject. Two sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Reinecke. The younger, Frank, has been engaged in ranching at Lusk, Wyoming, since 1896.

F. C. Reinecke early became familiar with the duties and labors of this agriculturist and remained with his father until he was twenty-five years of age. When they came to Iowa, in 1883, they located at Wesley, and there Mr. Reinecke engaged in farming for nineteen years. At the expiration of that time he removed to a place north of Sexton, and the next year bought his present place in Irvington township. He is engaged in diversified farming, and in connection with the cultivation of his fields raises a good grade of stock. That he is both energetic and progressive in his methods is evidenced by the condition of his fields and stock as well as the general appearance of his farm, everything about the place indicating the exercise of sound judgment and practical ideas in the direction of its improvement.

On February 5, 1896, Mr. Reinecke was married to Miss Emma R. Seemann and to them have been born five children, of whom four passed away in infancy, while the youngest, Elizabeth Martha, is now nine years of age.

The family attend the Presbyterian church in Irvington, and Mr. Reinecke is a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows at Wesley and the Encampment at Algona. He has always been a republican but is now a member of the new progressive party. He has held some of the township offices, among them that of committee man. Mr. Reinecke has always been an earnest, diligent worker, using intelligence and sagacity in directing the development of his interests, and has met with a corresponding degree of success.
