Biography reproduced from page 137 of Volume II of the History of Kossuth County written by Benjamin F. Reed and published in 1913:

C. F. Wheeler, manager of the Wheeler Grain Company at Ledyard, is a son of Albert Wheeler and a native of Kossuth county, his birth having occurred in Union township on the 6th day of August, 1873. He was reared in this county and acquired his education in a private school at Burt and the Algona Normal school. Upon terminating his student days he went to Germania, this county, where he learned the grain business. He was interested in the first elevator built there, which was owned and operated by Wheeler Brothers, and assisted in the management of the plant for seven years. At the expiration of that time he went to Ankeny, Iowa, where he spent eighteen months as manager of the Farmers Lumber Company, in which he was financially interested. During that time he was also connected with the Ledyard elevator of the Wheeler Grain Company, but was a resident of Ankeny. He has been manager of this plant for twelve years and by reason of his straightforward methods and honorable dealings has won the confidence of the community and is building up an excellent patronage. They carry grain, seed, tile, salt and coal.

While residing in Germania, Mr. Wheeler was married to Miss Ila Fitz, a daughter of J. M. Fitz, and they have become the parents of two children, Clare and Vivian, both of whom were born in Ledyard.

Fraternally the relations of Mr. Wheeler are confined to his membership in the Brotherhood of American Yeoman, while his political support he accords to the republication party. His fellow townsmen have on several occasions called him to public office during the period of his residence here, and he has served as township clerk and treasurer and also councilman and mayor of Ledyard, and at the present time he is candidate for county supervisor on the republican ticket from the fifth district. Mr. Wheeler has given very satisfactory service in the various offices he has filled, as he manifests the same promptness and systematic methods as well as general efficiency in the discharge of his public duties that characterize him in his business transactions.
