Mrs. W. M. Sylvester died at her home near Highland Center yesterday evening, afrer a long illness, aged 81 years, one month and two days. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock, at the Highland Center M. E. church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Smith, of Farson. The interment will be in the Competine cemetery.
Ella Bottorff was born July 1, 1878, in Clark county, Indiana, but came to Iowa her parents when quite young, residing on a farm near Competine. She was married April 16, 1896, to W. M. Sylvester, and to them were born seven children, one of whom is dead. Those surviving are David, Edith, Harold, Arthur, Frank and Wayne, the eldest being ten years of age. Besides the sorrowing husband, Mrs. Sylvester is survived by two brothers, H. N. and E. H. Bottorff, and two sisters, Mrs. William Cheek and Mrs. G. A. Kriese, and a host of friends. She was a loving wife and mother, and her loss will be keenly felt by the entire community.
