Mrs. John Wiley died at her home in Competine township last Wednesday, aged 53 years, two months and 28 days. The funeral was held Friday at ten o'clock a. m., conducted by Rey. Smith, of Farson, and the interment was in the Competine cemetery.
Lydia Decker was born in Wells county, Indiana, April 30, 1856, and came to Iowa in 1858, and has since resided in the vicinity in which she died. She was united in marriage to John Wiley, March 12, 1883, and to them were born five children, one of whom died in infancy. She is survived by her husband, John Wiley, and their four sons, Omer, Walter, William and Salora. She also leaves one sister, Elizabeth Williams, and two brothers, John Decker, of Seattle, Washington, and Jacob Decker, of Macon, Missouri.
Mrs. Wiley was a loving wife and mother and an estimable lady, and her death is mourned by a large number of friends.
