Ethelyn F. Molyneux, 99 of What Cheer, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 1989 at the Maplewood Manor in Keota, where she had been a resident for several years. She was born Sept. 1, 1889 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles and Ellen Crill Gildea.
She was united in marriage with Clayton Molyneux on May 7, 1917 in What Cheer. She was a graduate of the What Cheer High School after which she received her normal training. She then taught rural schools at Beeman, Gibson, Thornburg, and Prairie Bell Schools.
She was a member of the What Cheer Christian Church, the CWF, and the Dorcas Club.
She is survived by one son and his wife, Glen and Helen Molyneux of Marion; one daughter-in-law, Myrtle Molyneux of What Cheer; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Oct. 31, 1984; one son, Harvey, who died in 1973; one sister, Clara Dolcater; and one brother, Hugh, in infancy.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with Rev. Frances Baumert officiating. Burial will be int he Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg.
The family will be at the funeral chapel Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
The Harden Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
