17 October 1912 - West Branch Times

Olive E. Heath was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, July 28, 1859, and died Monday morning, October 14, 1912, aged 53 years, 2 months and 15 days.

She was married to Robinson C. Heacock October 28, 1875, at Sigourney, Iowa. To this union were born thirteen children: Elsie, Mary, Lottie, John, Frank, Rena, Harry, Agnes, Roscoe, Hattie, Fayetta, Clifford, Clifton. Of these, all survive her, save one. John, the oldest son, lost his life by an accident.

She was a woman of practical Christian life and character, always giving herself unselfishly and unsparingly where anyone was in distress. The words of the Book are fitting: "The teaching of kindness is in her tongue. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not her bread in idleness. Her children rise up to call her blessed. Her husband also, and he praiseth her, saying: Many daughters have done worthily but thou excellest them all. Grace is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands; and let her works praise her in the gates."

She was reared a Presbyterian, but since coming to this community she has been more closely affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal church. She has lived out her life here among us, and many friends and neighbors, both old and young, recall her good deeds and love her memory.

The funeral services were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon, at 1:00 o'clock, by Rev. A. E. Coe of Oasis. Interment in the Honey Grove cemetery.
