Margaret Anne Willhour, 82, of What Cheer, died June 26, 2005 at her home. Her remains have been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30 at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with Rev. Shirley Hoffman Will of Prairie View Methodist Church, Ollie, officiating. Private family interment will follow at a later date.

Margaret Anne Willhour was born in What Cheer on June 12, 1923, the. daughter of Omer L. and Anna L. Hartsock Bowen. She was educated in What Cheer and graduated from the What Cheer High School in 1940. She went to work at the Draegert Law Firm in What Cheer at the age of 16 and worked there until she retired in 2004.

On Sept. 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Lee Willhour at the Oskaloosa Methodist Church. Margaret Anne's hobbies included sending birthday cards, sending letters, reading, crocheting, crossstitch, and playing cards.

She was a member of the What Cheer United Methodist Church, the UMW, the Mary Circle, the election board, the What Cheer School Board, where she was instrumental in obtaining all-day kindergarten and the Keokuk County Fair Board, where she
was secretary.

Margaret Anne's memory is honored by her husband Lee Willhour of What Cheer, her son, Kevin Willhour (and friend Sandy George); two daughters, Susan Hilbert and husband Gary, and Lois Willhour, five grandchildren, John A. Willhour and wife Megan, Annie Beinhart and husband Lindsey, John C. Hilbert, Kyle Fittje, and Brian Fittje and one great-granddaughter, Kasey Beinhart. Margaret Anne's parents and her sister, Neva Riffel, preceded her in death.
