G. Hawley Rites Set

RICHLAND - Funeral services for Glenn E. Hawley, 74, will be Friday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at the Richland Friends Church with the Rev. Kenneth Pitts and the Rev. Don Bonney officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery at Richland.

Masonic rites will be conducted at the Gould Funeral Home in Richland Thursday evening at 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in his memory.

Hawley died suddenly of an apparent heart attack about 8:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Ollie Livestock Exchange where he had been employed the past 20 years.

He was a member of the Keokuk County Board of Review, a member of the Richland Friends Church and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge.

Glenn E. Hawley was born April 9, 1900, in Phillips County, Kan., the son of Walter I. and Carrie Mitchell Hawley. He married Rada Horn Feb. 27, 1921, and moved from Kansas to Iowa in 1939.

A retired farmer, they moved to Richland a year ago last fall.

In addition to his widow, Hawley is survived by two daughters: Doris Hawley, Hotchkiss, Colo., and Mrs. Robert Gott, Ollie; two sons, Alan R., Aurora, Ohio, and Leon G., Boulder, Colo.; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. J.L. Jensen, Denver, Colo.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
