Donald LeRoy Fritchen

Donald LeRoy Fritchen, 79, of Keller, Texas and formerly of Richland, died Monday Aug. 12, 2013, at Atrium Medical Center in Corinth, Texas.

A funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mother Cabrini Church in Richland with the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Visitation at Mother Cabrini Church begins at 2 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 3-5 p.m. Prayers for a Christian Wake are at 5 p.m.

Memorials to the American Legion Camp Sunnyside may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 33807 305th St., Richland 52585.

Gould Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fritchen was born June 5, 1934, in Richland, the son of William John and Alvina Catherine Weber Fritchen. He married Ardith Ann Niece June 4, 1956, in Richland. She died April 14, 1992.

He grew up in Richland and graduated from Richland High School in 1954.

He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post No. 504 in Richland.

He owned and operated the Fritchen Farm Store and co-owned Hinshaw-Fritchen Trailer Sales, both in Richland. The businesses were sold in 1975 and he began farming and also operated a back-hoe service until 1983 when he moved to Texas. He worked construction and owned and operated a landscaping business until 2004.

He was a member of Sts. Joseph and Cabrini Church in Richland.

Survivors include four children, Carlee Rogers and spouse Mark of Douds, Calista Feidler of Gilbert, Ariz., Steve Fritchen and spouse Megan of Richland and Scott Fritchen and spouse Janice of Keller, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Frazier of Booneville, Ind.; and two brothers, Howard Fritchen of Rock Island, Ill. and Bernard Fritchen of Rockford, Ill.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
