H. Myers, Linby, Dies

LINBY - Harold Keith Myers, 65, died suddenly Wednesday at 6 p.m. at his home in Linby. He was burning grass along the old railroad when he was stricken.

Dr. C.H. Watson, Jefferson County medical examiner, said his death was caused by a heart attack. A sheriff's officer and state trooper answered a call from the Myers home after 6 p.m.

Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Robert Capps of Farson officiating.

Myers was born Dec. 15, 1908 in Jefferson County, the son of Lawrence and Evalina Thompson Myers. Most of his life was spent in this county. He was married Sept. 19, 1957 to Letha Meier who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Rose Smith, Butler, Mont., and three grandchildren. Myers was a retired carpenter and a member of the local carpenters union of Washington.
