E. Conklin Rites Today

Services for Eddie Conklin, 86, Fairfield, were held today at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota.

Conklin died Friday at 2 p.m. at the Maplewood Manor Nursing Home in Keota where he had been a resident for 10 days. Services were conducted by the Rev. Don Callen. Burial was in Keota Cemetery.

Conklin was born and reared in the Keota area. He was born Sept. 3, 1887, the son of George and Isadora Fulton Conklin.

He was married Jan. 15, 1908 to Gertrude Berry. Following her death, he was married to Lellia Baker Aug. 30, 1952. Since then he had made his home in Fairfield.

Surviving are his widow, one son, Owen, Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. Palley Chapman of Keota; and one step-daughter, Mrs. Art Billheimer, Fairfield.

Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 20 great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Archie Miller, Keota. He was preceded in death by three sons, two daughters, two sisters and five brothers.
