Anna Davis died at the family residence in Sigourney , on Friday, Jan 14, 1881, eldest daughter of James H. and Mary S. Davis, in her seventeenth year of age. The deceased was born near Sigourney, in or near which place she lived until 5 years ago, when the family removed to Nebraska. After a residence there of about 3 years she began to suffer from an inflammation in the knee. After nearly two years vainly spent in seeking relief, it bacame necessary, in July last, to amputate the limb. But even this afforded only partial relief. The patient continued in an evident decline, and about 3 months ago the family returned to Sigourney in order that the closing days of the sufferers life might be passed amid the scenes and friends of early childhood."
