Golda Hammond, 79, originally of Sigourney, late of Reynolds, died Sunday, March 2, 1986, at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

She was born July 13, 1906, in Martinsburg, the daughter of John and Bessie Moore Leinenwever.

She graduated from the Hedrick high school in 1924.

On September 24, 1924, she married Earl Hammond. They lived and farmed in the Lancaster area until 1944 when they moved and farmed west of Sigourney.

She later owned and operated the Dairy Sweet on the west side of Sigourney. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; Aspasica Chapter; and attended the Lancaster Christian church.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Bunch of Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1960; her parents; one sister, Beatrice Myers; and one brother, Millard.

Services were held March 5, at the Lancaster Christian church with Rev. Dye officiating.

Burial was at the Mount Zion cemetery near Martinsburg.
