Raymond G. Wehr, 64, of Sigourney, died July 6, 1978, at his home.

The son of Frank and Elizabeth Becker Wehr, he was born March 19, 1914, at Sigourney. He attended Sigourney schools and married Lucie Krueger May 22, 1937, at Oskaloosa. They lived all their married life in Sigourney. In World War II he served overseas with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Lacey Kerr V.F.W. Post 2308. He worked for Kaiser Construction for 24 1/2 years before retiring in October, 1976.

He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Larry Wehr on Sept. 16, 1960.

Survivors include his wife, Lucie; two sons, Kenneth (Shirley) and Russell (Rachel); two daughters, Mrs. James (Judy) Fairchild and Mrs. Roger (Janet) Wilcox of Sigourney; 12 grandchildren; his mother and one sister, Mrs. Geneva Gilliland.

Funeral services were held July 8, at the Sigourney Christian Church with the Rev. Richard Pomeroy officiating and burial was in Pennington Cemetery. Military honors were held by Lacey Kerr V.F.W. Post.
