Matthias Peter Wehr, 90, died Nov. 6, 2005 at the Manor House in Sigourney. He was born April 30, 1915 at home near Sigourney to Peter and Magdalena Koch Wehr. He attended country school. He worked as a farm hand.

On Nov. 2, 1939 he married Rosemary Gertrude Strohman at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. They began farming on their own. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Ambrose Wehr, Walter Wehr, Frank Wehr and a sister, Catherine Wehr.

Those left to mourn are his wife Rosemary, five daughters, Gertie and her husband Tom Richardson, Bernie and her husband Omer Sieren, Cathi and her husband Al Currie, Marian and her husband Don Foulks, Carol Wehr, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Paul Wehr and a sister, Cecila Herman.

Services were held Nov. 9 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sigourney with burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
