I'm the volunteer who responded to many of the earlier requests about this topic. In Iowa, official registration of births, deaths, and marriages began July 1, 1880 so the paper you are wanting may be difficult to find.
All original records that have been registered are on file with the State Department of Health. Statewide record searches are available from the state registrar. Have you contacted them?
Another resource would be to reach out to the church they attended for a paper record IF one was kept.
I believe I shared Jeremiah's Monticello Express Thursday, Dec. 8, 1887 obituary with someone in this inquiry string but if not, here's the link and it's on the bottom right of the page along with a card of thanks.
