Funeral services were held July 4 for Benjamin J. Williams at Hayden Funeral Home, Olin. Burial was in the Olin cemetery. The Rev. Edward Petersen officiated. Mrs. Tom Levsen was organist. Pallbearers were Craig Schroeder, Bret Freeman, Alan Robinson, Jim Studer, Gary Taylor and Mark Coppess.
Mr. Williams, 20, died July 1 at his home near Olin.
He was born at Cedar Rapids Aug. 5, 1960, the son of William and Anna Solomon Williams. He lived near Olin and attended Lincoln Community school. His senior year he attended and graduated from Iowa City West high school.
After graduation he worked at the Iowa City airport for a year and then spent one year in the army. He had toured nationally as a member of the Cedar Rapids Emerald Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. Since April he had worked as a musician.
He is survived by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Robert (Lori) Wright, Iowa City; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Faith Williams Long, Olin and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Solomon, Burlington. Preceding him in death were both grandfathers.
