WYOMING - Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Buchholtz, 59, were held at Zion American Lutheran church, Wyoming, Sunday, Oct. 9, 1971. The Rev. Alfred Mardorf officiated. Mrs. Lafayette Bahnsen was organist and Loren Hartwig, soloist. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.
Elsie Viola Bahnsen Buchholtz was born Nov. 22, 1911 in Jones county, the daughter of Peter and Louise Eggert Bahnsen. She was educated in Hayfield, Minn., and attended teacher's college at Kasson, Minn. She was married to Fred Buchholtz Dec. 30, 1932 at Wyoming and they farmed in the Wyoming and Monmouth areas.
A resident of Wyoming, Mrs. Buchholtz died at a Rochester, Minn. hospital Thursday, Oct. 7. She was a member of Zion American Lutheran church.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; two sons, Donald, Wyoming, and Daryl, Swaledale; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Diane) Carstensen, Wyoming, and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Peter Bahnsen, Oxford Junction; four sisters, Mrs. Burdette (Mate) Miller, Mrs. Glen (LaVonne) Miller, both of Andrew; Mrs. Vince (Wilma) Lasack, Oxford Junction, and Mrs. Otto (Laura) Hansen, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
