Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6 at St. Patrick's Catholic church for Thomas W. Hogan, who died Friday, Sept. 3 at a Cedar Rapids hospital following a brief illness.

The Rev. Alfred Brosius officiated at the services; McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Castle Grove cemetery, Monticello.

He was born Oct. 4, 1886 in the Castle Grove community, the son of James and Mary A. Kennedy Hogan. He attended business college in Cedar Rapids and was engaged in farming near Castle Grove until he moved to Anamosa in 1943.

He is survived by a sister, Maye Hogan, Anamosa; a niece, Mrs. Roger Commings; a nephew, James T. Hogan, and 17 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.

Pallbearers were Lewis Fay, Joseph Edwards, James F. Hogan, Patrick Hogan, David Commings and John Hogan.
