CENTER JUNCTION - Mrs. Claude B. Batchelder, 66, died at her home in Center Junction early Friday morning, March 26, following a long illness.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Goettsch funeral home, Anamosa. Rev. C. E. Hendricks officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Casket bearers were Gale Batchelder, Everett Batchelder, Harold Batchelder, Clarence Taylor, Ralph Coppess and Dillon Story.

Mrs. Batchelder was born Elizabeth A. House, Dec. 24, 1887, at Olin, the daughter of Harvey and Amanda Baldwin House. She was married to Claude B. Batchelder, Feb. 14, 1907, in Anamosa by Rev. Dean C. Dutton.

Couple farmed for 30 years near Wyoming before moving to Center Junction six years ago.

Surviving, besides her husband, are three children, Clifford, Olin; Raymond, Wyoming, and Mrs. Ed (Marjorie) Soper, Wyoming. Five grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. Dora Craig, Anamosa; Mrs. Earl Batchelder, Central City; Mrs. Berdena Preston, Boone, and Mrs. Floyd Cadwell, San Diego, and a brother, Harvey House, Sweet Springs, Mo., also survive.

A twin sister, Mrs. Forest Craig, preceded her in death in 1949. Two brothers, Andrew and Theodore, also preceded her.
