WYOMING - Wyoming's oldest resident, Mrs. Stella Parr, 94, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, after a long illness.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, in the Presbyterian church, with Rev. F. E. Somerville officiating.
Burial will be in Wyoming cemetery. Wallace funeral home is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Parr was born in Oxford township, July 17, 1859, and lived all her life in Jones county except for a few years in South Dakota.
She lived 61 years in the same house in Wyoming.
She was married to Robert Lindsay in South Dakota. Three children were born to the couple. After Mr. Lindsay's death, she and the three children moved back to Wyoming, where she later married Joseph Parr. Mr. Parr died in 1937.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas and Vaughn Lindsay, Cedar Rapids, and a daughter, Mrs. Clara Miller, Wyoming. eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, also survive.
