OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service for Ed Hunwardsen, 91, was held Saturday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. in the English Lutheran church with Rev. Kenneth Harden officiating.

Mr. Hunwardsen died at his home in Oxford Junction at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, after a several months illness.

Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen was soloist accompanied at the piano by Vernon Steffens. Serving as casket bearers were Ernest Von Sprecken, Wyoming; Charles Bagley, Hannibal, Mo.; Henry Fedderson, John Fedderson and John Hunwardsen, Clarence; and John Hunwardsen, DeWitt.

Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mr. Hunwardsen was born in Germany July 26, 1862. He came to the United States and Oxford Junction when he was a young man.

In 1887, he was married to Katherine Henricksen, who came from Germany soon after Mr. Hunwardsen. From the time of their marriage they continued to live in Oxford Junction, where Mr. Hunwardsen was employed by the Chicago-Milwaukee Railroad, until his retirement.

He was a member of the English Lutheran church.

Surviving are three sons, Henry, Emil and Thomas, all of Oxford Junction, and two grandsons and two granddaughters.

His wife and two daughters preceded him in death.
