WYOMING - Funeral service for George Schmalfeldt, 49, who died at his home near Wyoming Saturday, Aug. 1, was held at the Wallace funeral home Monday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m.

Rev. F. E. Somerville, Monmouth, former pastor of the Wyoming Methodist church, officiated. Walter Sullivan sang, accompanied by Mrs. Frank Kluesner at the piano. Casket bearers were Dillon Stickley, William Reade, Edwin Westphal, Minehart Zimmerman, August Zimmerman and Howard Prussia. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.

George Schmalfeldt was born Feb. 22, 1904, the son of Peter and Mary Knuth Schmalfeldt. He attended the Onslow public schools, and was married to Miss Imogene Hamilton, Onslow, March 12, 1921. Two sons, Paul Henry and George, jr., were born to their union.

Mr. and Mrs. Schmalfeldt lived in the home community all of their married life and were engaged in farming at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife; his sons; one brother, Edwin Schmalfeldt, Wyoming; three sisters, Mrs. J. W. Thomsen, Wyoming; Mrs. Louis Guhl, Olin and Mrs. Joseph Womachka, Cedar Rapids. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.
