Funeral service for Mrs. Lucy E. Lavey, 79, who died Monday, Feb. 2, at Mercy hospital, was held Thursday, Feb. 5, at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic church. Rev. J. A. McMahon and Rev. Vincent Simon officiated. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.

Casket bearers were John McNamara, Milton Chesire, Lawrence Conmey, Louis Power, WIlliam Fay and James Connolly.

Mrs. Lavey was born July 15, 1874, at Anamosa, the daughter of James and Elizaberh Shuflin.

She was married in September, 1902, to Edward Lavey. One son was born to this union. Couple resided in Anamosa until 1921, and then moved to Omaha.

Mr. Lavey died in 1946. After his death Mrs. Lavey lived with her son at Omaha, and with Mrs. Margaret Martin in Anamosa.

Surviving are her son, Gerald J. Lavey, Omaha; a sister, Mary Shuflin, Omaha; and four grandchildren.
